Your business doesn't have to be failing before it needs attention.

A business can be growing, making money, creating real opportunity here in Lagos, and still be getting harder to run. The numbers aren't clear enough. Processes haven't kept up. Too many decisions still land on one or two people. The business grew. The way it runs didn't grow with it.

I've read businesses from the outside, as a banker deciding who deserved capital and who was quietly weeks from trouble. Now I sit inside them. As an embedded COO, the diagnosis and the daily work of fixing it happen in the same hands, mine. I've taken a business from selling roughly 3,770 units a month to over 14,000, not on a slide deck, on the ground, rebuilding the sales machine and the people running it.

I am a chartered accountant (FCCA), sharpened the strategic lens with an MBA, and added the process discipline of a certified business analyst (CBAP). But none of that matters as much as this: I've done the actual work, inside Lagos businesses, under Lagos conditions, where a forex swing or a supply delay can undo a quarter's planning in a week. That's what Trivet is built on. Not theory borrowed from a case study. Work I've actually done, more than once, in the market you're actually operating in.

WHO WE ARE

Trivet is a Business-Building Advisory Firm. We help business owners build stronger businesses from the inside out, getting the numbers under control, fixing how work gets done, testing an opportunity, preparing for change, or seeing an important plan through.

Understand the business. Work out what matters. Do the work properly. Leave the business stronger.

THE WORK, IN SHORT

Some of what this has looked like in practice:

01

When the numbers don't tell the whole story.

We've rebuilt accounting structures, clarified reporting and connected financial information to the decisions management actually needs to make - cutting the monthly close from weeks to hours and catching a margin leak that had gone unnoticed for months.

When getting things done shouldn't be this hard.

02

We've mapped processes, clarified responsibilities, reworked workflows and introduced practical systems that make work easier to follow, control and monitor - taking order processing from a three-person chase to a one-person system.

When you need to know what's happening when you're not there.

03

We've worked through inventory, customer movement, controls, reporting and accountability, finding where things can go wrong and putting clearer ways of working around them.

For this business owner, the objective was simple: she wanted to be able to sleep with both eyes closed. We are mapping how customers, bags, stock, sales, and staff move through the business, identifying where loss could occur and putting the controls and visibility around those points.

When hard work isn't translating into enough performance.

04

We've restructured sales teams, territories, targets and performance management and monitoring - including taking one operation from roughly 3,770 units a month to over 14,000.

When an opportunity needs more than a good idea.

05

We’ve built feasibility studies, financial models, business plans, and investment cases, testing the numbers, assumptions, and practical requirements before money or reputation is committed.

We’ve helped secure investment for a new venture and shown a client, before a Naira was spent, what the numbers needed to look like for the opportunity to make sense.

WHY TRIVET EXISTS

Because good businesses can still be difficult to run.

I saw this from the banking side for years. The businesses that got into real trouble weren't usually the ones that looked troubled. They were the ones growing fast enough that nobody had time to notice the cracks. Good revenue. Real customers. And underneath it, decisions still running through one person, numbers telling half the story, and a structure built for a business half the size it had become.

Those are moments worth paying attention to.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The problem you can see is rarely the whole problem.

Good advice means nothing if it doesn't get implemented.

Every business is different, so the answer should be too.

Numbers matter, but they're not the whole story.

Sustainable change comes from the inside.

And the truth is worth more than comfort.

THE CLIENT RELATIONSHIP

We work as an extension of your team, not a firm handing over a report and disappearing.

That means we'll challenge assumptions, ask difficult questions, tell you to do less, or tell you when something needs more work. And sometimes, we'll tell you that you don't need us. We'd rather tell you that than sell you something you don't need.

THE HUMAN SIDE

Professional enough to challenge you. Human enough to work alongside you.

We take the work seriously. We don't take ourselves too seriously while doing it.

THE LONG VIEW

We're not chasing a quick engagement.

We're building the kind of relationship where you call us again in three years, not because something's broken, but because you trust how we think.

WHO WE WORK WITH

We work best with owners who'd rather hear the truth than a comfortable version of it.

People who want to understand what's actually happening in their business, not just be told it'll be fine.

CLOSING

Not by making things unnecessarily complicated.

Not by giving you a report and walking away.

And not by pretending there is one formula for every business.

If something in your business isn't working as it should, let's talk about it.
